Painting with indigo and tannin inks

I have been experimenting with making pigment, ink and paint from our indigo leaves. We use Japanese indigo, Persicaria Tinctoria, also known as polygonum tinctoria.

I also make inks with tannin from things like acorns and tree cones. Tannin inks can be adjusted with rusty vinagar to make greys and black.
